The stable political system of Australia, its well-maintained roads, its low crime rate and high level of health care are a relatively easy country to explore. However, it is important to be aware of the potential environmental hazards such as forest fires, high waves and extreme desert heat. You must prepare carefully for travel in the Outback and long walks or hikes, and take precautions against sharks, crocodiles and poisonous animals. With common sense tips that follow, you can safely enjoy the unique landscapes of Australia - the vast Outback wild ocean beaches and roads in the unspoilt nature.


Personal safety
Australia has a stable political system and a low crime rate globally so that Australians enjoy a safe life style. This is generally a safe destination and tourists enjoy stays safely in terms of personal safety. However, as with any trip home and abroad, you must observe the usual precautions for your personal possessions and that of your property.


Protection against the sun.
The sun of Australia "hits" very strongly. Always wear shirt, hat, sunglasses and put sunscreen SPF 30 + even on cloudy days. If you spend all day outside, put sunscreen regularly. Stay in the shade at midday when the sun is strongest . Make sure you drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration .


Forest fires - fires in general
Australians living with the risk of forest fires. The danger period is from late spring to summer and you shall observe this period a few simple safety precautions. Before you travel , learn fire risk by television, radio and newspapers. When camping, use locations campfires provided and obey road signs and " Total Fire Bans " (complete bans on fire ). If you need to make a fire, turn it off the always with water.


Swim between the flags
The beautiful beaches of Australia can hide dangers in the form of strong currents called rips (tidal waves). Avoid them always swim between the red and yellow flags - they mark the safest place from the beach. Lifeguards / lifesavers red and yellow uniforms generally patrol beaches during the warmer months from October to April, but some of the most popular beaches are patrolled year round.


Travel in remote areas of Australia
Car trip in remote areas and harsh Australia requires serious preparation. Before you embark on a journey in 4x4 like us or in the Outback, make sure your vehicle is in good condition, has a GPS and two spare wheels. You also need good maps, food, water, gasoline and plan for emergencies. Plan your route carefully and warn third arrival. Check road conditions before you start your trip, stay with your vehicle if it breaks down and avoid traveling in conditions of extreme heat. If you drive a non-specialized vehicle in remote areas, go slowly on unpaved roads, dusty, narrow and always check road conditions before you away from main roads. Mobile phones have limited in remote, so check the network coverage with your provider reception areas.
